UK's First Multi-Charity Department Store To Open At Brent Cross

New preloved fashion concept store Charity Super.Mkt will open at Brent Cross on 27 January 2023 for a four-week pop-up, offering a curated selection of stylish second-hand garments and bringing together the best donated clothing sourced from 10 UK charities under one roof for the first time. This is the first time ever that national and local charities have collaborated for a multi-charity physical retail store, creating a new destination for customers to shop with purpose as the second-hand fashion market booms globally.

Marugame to open 5th UK restaurant at Brent Cross

Marugame Udon is due to open early Summer 2022 on the Dining Level at Brent Cross in a unit formerly occupied by Burger King. The chain which has c.800 sites across Japan and a further 250+ restaurants worldwide offers freshly made udon dishes with prices starting at £3.45. The brand’s appeal is vast, from solo shoppers seeking brief rest bite, to large social group gatherings. Delivery and takeaway options will also be available.

Car showroom letting takes center stage

Volvo is set to replace the Tesla car showroom at Centre Court, Lower Level this Spring. The 2,000 sq ft unit will showcase the latest electric models with test drives available of up to 6 vehicles from the multi storey car park. This letting encapsulates the diversity of retailers attracted to Brent Cross, particularly car retailers who recognise the unique positioning of the centre.

Moorfields Eye Hospital to open eye care diagnostic hub at Brent Cross

The facility, which opens in September, will be the first Moorfields hub to open in a retail destination. Moorfields will be taking 15,000 sqft of space, across two floors, in a unit previously occupied by New Look. The agreement is the latest example of how Hammerson is collaborating with businesses and public sector partners to repurpose retail space for alternative uses, including the creation of wellness and community services. The Moorfields hub will benefit from the destination’s easy access via road and public transport and unique role at the heart of the local community.

Whitefield students give the streets of Brent Cross a facelift

Brent Cross has partnered with Barnet Council to create a large-scale community mural designed by GCSE and A-Level students from Whitefield School. The striking, colourful mural runs along the hoardings near Brent Cross Shopping Centre. The “large community mural” focuses on three themes: celebration, the local community through a young person’s eyes, and forests.
